Product Review: Tangle Teezer

My Review
The tangle teezer is absolutely amazing! It is a bit pricey for a brush or comb but the price is relative. You literally will not need another comb or brush ever. Unless you use a comb for parting your hair. Otherwise, this is all you need. I have found that you can detangle wet or dry hair with the tangle teezer. In the past I could never even think about combing my hair while dry. But not with the tangle teezer. Wet or dry it gets the job done. Another great thing about it, is that you pull out less hair! It does a great job of ridding me of shedded hair but I don't get a great amount of snapping and pulling on healthy strands. Chelsyea asked if it is painful or hurts. Not one bit. As I explained in the video, the bristles move with your hair and they are very flexible! You can even get right down to the roots. And it is all very painless! Also, I love how EASY it is to clean! Pull out the hair, and rinse out the rest. That is all :) In addition, it comes in MANY different colors! Hot pink, black, purple with sparkles, blue, green, etc. Read more about the product here!

Other Review:
Price: $10 plus tax ($10.86 for me)

Please note that is is great for ALL types of hair. Ladies with long-flowing glorious locks, check out this review,

Okay people, this brush is going in my will along with a few other beauty hg's. I read a bunch of the reviews and decided to give it a try.

I didn't think it was accomplishing much since it didn't 'pull' like a normal brush. Well, I ran my fingers through my very long waist length hair and to my enjoyment....not a snarl to be found!

I have very fine, very long hair that just loves to tangle up if I even think about a knot. I've tried soooo many different products and brushes but I will never buy another 'regular' brush ever ever again :)

I plan on using on my 2 year old as well, she has fine curly hair that tangles occasionally. You gotta start em early :)

I love that the focus of the creation of this hair tool revolves around limiting cuticle damage! According to the website,

The damage trying to tear tangles and knots out of your hair with an unsuitable brush cannot be underestimated. Vigorous brushing will ‘rough’ up and damage the hair’s cuticle wrecking your hair’s chances of looking healthy and shiny. The cuticle or the outermost layer of the hair is a hard layer of over-lapping protective scale like cells (think of them as tiles on a roof) and are the front line when it comes to protecting your hair’s internal structure from damage which is imperative for bouncy, sexy and touchable hair. As well as brushing, cuticle sabotage can be caused by over-use of heated appliances, chemicals and hair accessories such as clips leading to split ends and a lack lustre and frizzy appearance.
For mothers of children with natural hair:

They offer the magic flowerpot which is, "a hairdressing first - a revolution in children’s hair care guaranteed to end their fear of tears,". It is absolutely adorable. It makes combing out your daughters hair fun for them and cute for their room :)

What do others say?

Pros
  • detangles the worst knots
  • gives a good scalp massage
  • can tell it is not damaging to hair
  • barely lose any hair

Cons
  • sensitive scalps may not like the bristles on their scalp
  • sounds like Velcro running through hair (although it is not ripping it out)
  • very hard to find cons!!!
So I hope this is helpful! There are TONS of reviews on the net. And most of them are positive!

If you decide to purchase this product please let me know how it works for you!

My Review:
After a fresh wash and detangling, I twisted my hair using the UNCUT and GROW products. It took me a few tries to find the right amount to use in my hair. After I did that, these were my results and reviews:

UNCUT

The oils worked like magic in my hair! They did great to seal in the moisture after my creme based moisturizer. I think it was a great mix, not too greasy or heavy! (Which is a BIG deal) Many oil mixes are just way to greasy lol. My only con is that the scent was a bit overwhelming after a while. It was just a bit strong for my liking

GROW

My initial feeling was that it was too greasy, but that was just because I was using too much *smile* It is actually very lightweight and doesn't take much. It REALLY worked great on my twists! Gave great sheen and body! It also has a lot of slip to it so it makes it easier for me to keep my hair detangled. It tends to re curl and tangle itself on its own even after I comb it all out. Overall this is a great product for my hair type :)

I KNOW the product is good and I KNOW it works and I cannot stress enough that is is WORTH the money! Not only are the products awesome, but they go a long way. I only had to use 1/3 the amount of UNCUT that I generally use (with an oil mix) in order to get good results. And I only had to use half a dime size of the GROW in order to have good results. That's nothing compared to how much product I generally have to put into my hair.

Here is a special offer that Christine has personally given to the followers of this blog, THAT'S YOU!

Christine has offered a 20% discount if you mention that your purpose for buying the product is because you saw the review on my blog! What a GREAT deal!! So don't wait, support a fellow sister in the faith especially because this product is very worthwhile. Click here to check out her website!

Product Review: Herbal Essances None of Your Frizzness Smoothing Leave in Creme

My Review: I am in love, love, love with this leave in conditioner! It has been a love affair since day one! This product is inexpensive at it gets the job done, while leaving your hair smelling sweet and exotic for the next 3 days. It makes my hair very moisturized and it makes the detangling process like a walk in the park! Seriously, no exaggeration there. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about this product. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner! If you are still in need of a good creme based moisturizer, this is a great start. If it doesn't work for you (for some odd reason lol) you aren't way out of pocket. It costs a few bucks, it smells great and in my experience, it really gets the job done! If this product could talk, she would say, "i'm not a last resort; i'm like a smooth spa. your cute, fuzzy head is in for a really rich treat. watch my smoothing leave-in crème lay frizz down. i've got a high dose of conditioning anti-frizz potion fused with extracts of mandarin balm and pearls. i help smooth your strands with my nourishing moisturizers so your frizzy halo becomes a smooth line all day long." For more information regarding this product, click this link!

My Other Thoughts...
  •  This product is recommended for damaged hair and curl definition
  • Can be used in dry OR wet hair
  • Water based :)
  • For ALL hair types
Other Reviews:
  • Price: $2.97 at Wal-Mart, $2.99 at K-Mart. Can also be purchased online via amazon.com, but this option is a but pricier. Around $4-5 a bottle
  • Ingredients: water, cyclopentasil oxane, dimethicon, citrus nobilus (mandarin orange) peel oil, pearl powder, etc.

What did others say?
Pros:
  •  Users LOVE the smell, even if the product isn't exactly what they were looking for
  • Controlled frizz even in rainy weather
  • Copied from this website, I wear my hair natural. No colors, or chemicals. I have very curly 3C-4A hair texture. I have used so many products to help manage my curls, without making them dry and stiff. This is the ONLY product that does so. All other leave-ins have polymers that result in leaving a cakey stiffness to the hair, and not allowing for ...soft spring in my curls. With this..I can just condition wash as always, step out, apply to wet hair, and go. My hair is always soft after using this, and smells so good. You can't beat INEXPENSIVE and does the job

Cons:
  •  Product a bit watery
  • Some found that it didn't control their frizz at all
  • One reviewer thought that it didn't help her dry hair as much as she thought. She has severely damaged and dry hair
It is very difficult to find bad reviews for this product! Read hundreds of reviews here!

Product Review: Hydrating Teatree Mint Hydrating Treatment

My Review: I picked up this product from Big Lots this week. It was $2.00 per bottle, which is a fantastic price! According to the bottle, "Hyrating teatree mint hydrating treatment is an ultra hydrating blend of Australian tea tree oils to add moisture and strength, while nourishing your hair with replenishing moisturizing milk proteins and micro-infused peppermint oils for hydration and balance." I picked this up as a second type of leave in conditioner as I like to have different options. It caught my eye because I am a huge fan of tea tree oil. So I read the back and front. I decided at $2 a pop it wasn't hard to say no :) The ingredients look great, I am too blind to focus in on them and type them all out for you. lol. But there is nothing that makes me raise my eyebrow! I will definitely be adding this to my list of things to have. In this winter season, hydration is a MUST!

My other thoughts...
  • This is a great product for keeping twist outs and braid outs hydrated. I didn't like the way it felt on freshly washed wet hair. It didn't have enough slip. In my opinion, this is more of a hydration throughout the week type of product.
  • I used this everyday before bed and it kept my hair very moisturized without a greasy feel or look.
  • This is a very light product
  • The consistency is a bit on the sticky side (It doesn't feel sticky in my hair) but I always have to wash my hands after applying it.
  • It is sulfate free and paraben free
  • Organix (R) bottles are eco-friendly, manufactured from materials containing recycled post-consumer resin. All labels are printed untilizing environmental inks and compostable label film made from annually renewable resource corn, not from petrochemicals.
  • For ALL hair types
Other Reviews
  • Price: Very inexpensive. $2 plus tax at Big Lots

  • Ingredients: Water, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Propanediol, Glycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trideceth-6, Laureth-4, Cetyl Alcohol, Silk Amino Complex, Australian Tea Tree Oils, Soy Milk Proteins, Peppermint Oils, Keratin Protein, Shea Butter, Fragrance.,

What do others say?

Pros:
  • Provided an alternative to a heavy treatment.
  • The light consistency of this allowed some to wear more bouncy and managable curls

Cons:
  • Some did not find it as moisturizing as they thought it would be
  • Others thought it would give a better appearance of moisturized hair

Product Review: Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner

My Review: I picked up this product from Trader Joes this week. It was $3.99 per bottle, which in my opinion is a STEAL. Considering I only wash once a week. (Of course my husband and I share shampoo too so sometimes it dwindles a little faster than I anticipate lol) Anyhow I am positive that of all the shampoos and conditioners I have tried, this is the BEST shampoo and conditioner that I have ever used! Now this set is definitely for all hair types but it was appealing to me in particular because I tend to have a dry scalp. So I am always looking for hydrating and soothing products to keep my dry scalp to a minimum or diminish it altogether.
This shampoo contains many natural ingredients including tea tree oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, nettle oil, thyme oil, birch leaf oil, etc.   For me, the shampoo didn't make my hair feel anymore stripped than usual. You hair should feel slightly stripped when you use a shampoo because of the properties of shampoo. It is stripping dirt, excess oils, dust, etc. The shampoo felt incredible on my scalp! I was extremely impressed with the conditioner as well. My hair was extremely silky, smooth and my curls were light, fluffy and bouncy. After washing and taking a good look at my hair in the shower, I noticed how defined my curls looked! Great product!!

My other thoughts...
  • DON'T get it in your eyes, just a heads up!
  • The more you rub the product into your hair and scalp, the more invigorating it feels
  • There is a very strong peppermint scent :) I love it!
  • The conditioner has GREAT slip! It is very easy to finger comb and detangle with this product in
  • Again, its great for all hair types. My hubby used it and loved it. He said he liked it better than Nourish Spa. Especially the conditioner :) And if you didn't know, my husband is white with curly hair. (of course we rarely see the curls because he keeps it short)
Other Reviews

Price: Very inexpensive. $7.99+tax. (Roughly $8.98 with tax for me. Our tax is just about 10%)

Ingredients: ALL organic. No parabens.

What do others say?
Pros:
  • No parabens
  • Minty, refreshing and invigorating for scalp
  • Conditioner left hair feeling silky smooth
  • Bouncier curls

Cons:
  • Some find the shampoo to be to stripping on their hair
  • Has left some with tangles and knots
  •  Can only be found via trader joes
