Hello there beautiful!

SORRY LADIES!! Last week was the blessed, most stressful, most intense week of the year, FINALS! They greet our household about 3 times a year. My husband and I turned into studying, coffee drinking, and eating pros. So hence the reason for my absence! But I am back in action :)

Now... This is kind of not related to apostolic hair... But kinda!Brendan and I took Christmas pics last week and I LOVE how my 12 min quickie hair do turned out! I thought it was gonna look rough lol..
Now for some pics! Let me know what you think! Sis Marie Prime did in AMAZING job!

Old skool french braid

So I was exhausted after two awesome services on Sunday! We had such powerful moves of God both in the morning AND night! By the time I was home, I had no energy to think about twisting, braiding, or doing anything to my hair- except throwing on my sink bonnet and calling it a night!! So I thought of a super quick style that I could rock on monday.

A french braid :)
sometimes you just gotta take it back to the good ol' elementary school days...

I added a small braid across the front for something different

And I'm wearing one tiny plastic headband :)

Side view: I pulled the back into a bun at the bottom

Perhaps a better side view :)

Need a quick do??

This is a super easy one! And you guessed it, its a protective style! You will need:

  • A plain elastic headband
  • Some type of (non-hair breakage) hair tye
  • A few bobby pins
  • 7 minutes :)
I started this style with a twist out! So that is why I have a curly/crimpy texture going on!

Now here is what you do...

Step 1: Separate the hair into two sections!!

Step 2: Gently pull the back section into a messy bun. Use bobby pins to secure loose pieces :)

Can you tell I'm enjoying myself?? :)

Step 3: Grab the left section of the top.
There is no specific amount of hair that
you need to grab. Its up to you!

Step 4: Pull the piece back (give it a little volume) and secure it with a bobby pin!

Step 5: Grab the right section of hair and pull it back the same way!! Give it some ump!!

I love making silly faces at myself when I do my hair!

Step 6: Grab the middle section and pull it back, slightly to the side...

Personally I think it helps to smile at yourself
it reminds me of how God smiles at me :)

Step 7: You know 7 is Gods number right? lol :)

Now you just add the headband...

Annnnnd....

(I like to add volume by pinning random pieces in random places)

I promise I was happy about my hair, but I my smile was looking overly cheesy so I was like OH FORGET IT!!

Here's to happy hair

And a smile that melts Gods heart <3

Intro and Hairstyle #1, Bantu Knots with Braids

To all my black Apostolic ladies! I want YOU to know that you can have beautiful, healthy and long hair also! There is no need for us to be havin super short hair that is unhealthy. Especially if our glory really means something to us. SO here it is, I'm going to help you grow you hair. Yes I am going to take on the challenge of **prayerfully** helping black apostolic laides all around the world! Because UNCUT hair is beautiful and it doesn't have to be damaged, falling out and all of that madness!! So here are some beginning steps:

If you have relaxed hair, it is time to grow your relaxer out TODAY! I cannot tell you enough how bad and terrible relaxers are for black hair. Not only does it break your hair off, but it also releases chemicals into your blood stream! Need I say more? If you want healthy hair, this has GOT to be step number one!! So today is the day for you to transition. (which means, doing styles that take you from relaxed the natural without sissors) We don't believe in the "big chop", little chop, tiny chop, NO chop! lol. Don't touch that hair with those sissors!!

  • MOISTURIZE YOUR ENDS DAILY!! Hair doesn't grow from the ends, it grows from the roots right?? Yes, but hair retention comes from how much hair you can retain. So a lot of the times we think our hair isn't growing, but it is! We just are not taking care of the ends of our hair, so inevitably, it always looks short!

  • Heat = Dangerous! Okay I know curls are the thing to do in Pentecost ladies, but come on. Not one more day can your hair afford to be fried at the expense of looking cute. Especially when there are other ways to achieve the same styles with without heat!! For example, you can do bantu knots for curls! Super simple and you achieve beautiful, bouncy curls!! There are twist outs if you're more into wavey curls... there are braid outs.. etc, etc!!

  • Protect your hair! We need to believe in protective styling!!!!!  (Protective styling is the type of styling that prevents you from excess combing, pulling, touching, etc your hair)

So here it is, your FIRST tutorial from me...

Need a church style when church is starting in about 3 hours???
