Still...

Still knitting Colbi's domino-diamond scarf. I don't know when to stop, and I don't know how long it should be.

Still reeling from the L.A. trip. The snow in the Mojave Desert was mind tripping. I loved Disneyland, I loved The Haunted Mansion, I thought I died on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, I fell in love (all over again) with Tinkerbell, and the fireworks were the best I'd ever seen. The castle wasn't the one I thought it would be (I thought it was the Cinderella castle, but it was the Sleeping Beauty castle). I finally got to ride Space Mountain and the Monorail. I felt like I was 10 years old. Disneyland was wonderful, and I loved being there with Andrew. He makes everything fun.

He was such a trouper when we went in search for Rush's (non-existant) star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We walked the whole 3.5 miles looking for the star. Eventhough they've been nominated, the star hasn't been inlaid yet. They have up to 5 years from the date of induction. I got to see all my favorite movie stars foot and handprints (Lucille Ball didn't participate). I saw Myrna Loy, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Eddie Murphy, Gary Cooper, Gregory Peck, etc. I am such an old movie fan, so I was in my element. When we went to Warner Brothers Studio, I was in heaven. We got to see actual movie studios, props, costumes, and actual Oscars. Unfortunately, we didn't get to take the camera inside the museum. I saw the stage that "Dark Victory" (1939 - Bette Davis) was shot on. Another treat was that we got to go onto the sets of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Julia Luis-Dreyfuss' show (don't watch that one). We saw Jim Parsons (Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory) driving around the lot. Of course, we did all of this in the rain! We also saw Warner Brother Records, Atlantic Records, the round Capitol Records building, and the NBC studios. I saw everything I wanted to see. The Hollywood sign was BREATHTAKING (see pic above). Adding pics to a photo album is on my ever growing list. The L.A. Trip ranks #3 on our trips (#1 Grand Canyon, #2 Mexico).

What wasn't such a good time was how my curly malaysian CLIZZOWNED!!! It rained the first 3 days we were there, and that didn't stop us from our agenda. My hair turned into... you guessed it... a TRIBBLE!!! I should have known better when the left ponytail completely locked in the car, before we even got there. I guess from the humidity. I was able to comb it out in the car. That second night, I spent 3 hours in the bathroom trying to untangle. We had to go to the grocery store to get some slippery conditioner (Tressemme Flawless Curls). I know I used half of that big bottle. I finally got it untangled. I can't believe that I didn't take pictures of the Tribble. For the rest of the trip, I had to contain it in a bun:

Now, we're all excited about starting the P90X Home Fitness System. I got the hookup from the BHM Exercise section. I have all the materials, we even bought weights and resistance bands. I want to thoroughly read all the material before we start. I know it's going to kick my azz, but I have to do something about this gut.

I've got 3 music videos on my YT channel. We recorded Alice In Chain's "No Excuses", but the video was jank because I was also burning discs for Meechie, so I had to remove it. We may redo it tonight, but definitely Friday. Next up for me is Rush's "Resist". I'm still trying to get the vocal just right. It's pretty fun reading all the positive feedback.

Now, all I have to do find a job.

Phase Two of World Domination.... Music!

As you all can see (per the new video posted), I have added music videos to my YouTube channel. I've been playing guitar and singing for a very long time, but never serious enough to put it on display. What kicked it into gear for me was seeing these young girls on Ellen (Degeneres) last week, playing guitar and singing the Lauryn Hill version of "Killing Me Softly". I hate all that affected singing, but that's just me. So I'm going to post me singing all my favorite songs, mostly 70's rock stuff. I'll throw in some unexpected treats along the way. I had to get used to the camera, and our camera is really neat, because the view thingy swivels around so you can see what you're doing. Next up is "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, dedicated to the victims of the Haitian Earthquake (we donated $20 too).

The LA trip is next week. My coat should be here tomorrow. I was hoping my glue and tape from Hair Direct would be here before we left, but it's not. I'll have to milk this app for all it's worth, including many touchups. No major lifts yet, other than the nape right corner. The hair is performing spectacularly.

I'm still knitting Colbi's domino scarf. I'm trying to figure out what kind of scarf I want. I was going to do a scarf like the brown monster, but it's not working out in the stockinette stitch. I don't necessarily like garter stitch items. I'm pouring over some stitch books now. I may just do it in the domino motif too.

A New Day Has Come!

**When reading this post, you have to listen to Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come" song, because I love that song. Either the fast version or the slow version.**

A new day has come to my lace wig adventures. I now have a YouTube channel! I've uploaded video tutorials, for all those who've asked. It was an exhaustive process. YouTube requires its videos to be 10 minutes or less in length, so I had to re-edit most of the videos I made. It was fun making the title pages and the scrolling credits. I got used to seeing me on film. I did this on my laptop, with the webcam built into it. I will eventually invest in a real digital movie camera. This was fun. Eventually, me and my boyfriend will venture into comedy skits and music performance. I know my videos are quite crudely made, but I hope they help whoever needs it. These are my methods that I use for every application. I have a removal series, and a wash/condition series that I need to upload, but I'm exhausted. I have to re-edit those videos, which is actually a pain in the ass. I'll load those up this week.

Happy Birthday Robert DeNiro Jr!!!

I love me some Robert DeNiro Jr. Today is his birthday. We just saw Righteous Kill last night. It was good. Al Pacino has fallen off. He's too extra, Robert DeNiro gets better with age.

I've started Lace Wig Video Tutorials today, for my new lace wig friend Princess. It's fun, but it's very tedious. It's fun playing with opening titles and transitions. No irritating music during the talking. Maybe at the beginning and end, but not during the explanations. I've done a 25 minute blog taking the Rex Malaysian Wavy (Mexico hair) off, from start to clean hair. Then I did a video tutorial of the faux knot bleaching/fake scalp. Then I did a "how to clean a lace wig" video. Then I did a product video. Tomorrow, I'm going to do the application video. Now I see why people have "parts" to their videos. Maybe most people's attention spans aren't that long. It's a new direction, one I didn't think I'd venture in, but my friend needs this, and I'm willing to help her. I'm probably going to load them up to YouTube. Definitely this page for sure. Stay tuned.
