Can't Believe It's March Already!

I kicked off the month of March by purchasing my first iPad:
I'm in love. Apple knows how to do it! The joke was on me though, as I purchased this on Tuesday, then the new iPad 2 came out on Wednesday. I'll be able to replace this next Saturday - I can't wait. By then, I'll have the pink portfolio cover and the clear plastic protectors. Eventhough I love my Kindle, and it still works fine, everything on the iPad is in color. I even bought Sims 3 Ambitions from the App Store. I'll have to wipe it clean on Friday and redo all my downloads. I'm so excited.
Today was re-app day. I'm wearing my Rex virgin malaysian natural straight. I had to reventilate the back nape. I rubbed a spot bald. I got out my ventilating needle and the bulk virgin malaysian natural straight and got to work. It took me about an hour to fill the spot:

I need to break down and buy the glueless wigs from Rex. I can't wait until my natural hair is back to the length before I cut it. I loved the freedom of not having to deal with the glue and tape. I can do this... I've done it before. I just have to keep my eyes on the prize and not get "hair" bored.
Stay tuned.

Wrapping Up The Weekend

I can't stop taking pictures of the babies!

Tonight, we had sushi. I don't know what to say about sushi. I keep trying. I did like the octopus salad, if I didn't look at the tentacles. It's the seaweed that throws me off.

Tomorrow, I begin to ventilate. I have mostly all of my wig making materials, except for the magnifying lamp. The lace is wonderful (I won off ebay, a whole yard, for $29, which sells elsewhere for $88 or more), I have the pins, the clips, everything. I do need new needlenose pliers, and a plastic organizer. I will walk to the post office tomorrow, to mail a book to Rex, then I will come home and get started. I do need to make a template of my head, but I have a unit on my head... hmmm... I would like to make a workstation eventually, but the apt is too small. A desk where I can have a hackle and my light with a power strip, and storage space. I'm so excited.
I'm going to start by adding lace to the back of my units, then ventilating it.

This is going to be a good week.

The Babies Are Wearing Me Out!!!

The babies are wearing me out. I can't stop taking their pictures:

My supplies are trickling in. The hair and the drawing cards came yesterday. I'm waiting on the magnifying lamp, straight pins, and hammer. I have enough clips, so I don't need anymore. I just need lace and the blue paper. Nrrrlkl (my adopted teacher) says I can use any type of paper. I'm thinking wrapping paper. I won't order the lace until next month. I wish the fabric stores sold the type of lace we need.

Waiting for the Paint to Dry...

I haven't neglected my hair. I mainly let it do its own thing. I don't comb it, but I wet it and combed some MegaTek through it today. I'm so in love with my hair. It's doing what I've always wished it to do... had I had the patience to let it. Maybe my hair is the metaphor for life - just let it be. Who knows...

I'm about to order my ventilating supplies. Just the canvas head, needles (and holder), the dvd. I'm on the fence about the drawing cards. I'm going to order the hair from Rex. Here goes!

I'm finishing the painting today. I love looking over, through the kitchen door and seeing that pop of color. Who do I think I am???

Easy Like Sunday Afternoon!

It's Sunday, and I'm doing a Organix Vanilla Silk deep conditioning treatment. I can't get over my hair, lol. I was driving from the new place on Friday, and my hair was just blowing in the wind. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror at it. It's not a narcissistic thing, it's a "I can see my hair goal at the end of the tunnel" thing.

I've found some really great ventilating videos on YouTube. I'm so excited about it. I know it's going to be tedious and arduous, but the money I'll save on my wigs. The money I'll make on my wigs! The possibilities are endless.

Still only two book sales... better than nothing.

Now What???

The book is done. Two copies have sold (yea me)! Now what? It's time for the music. I promised Andrew that I wouldn't pick up another project (other than trying to find a job). Once the royalty checks start coming in from book sales, I'll buy ventilating tools. I'm going to start off ventilating the three wigs I have. Then I'll move into making the wigs.

I'm so excited, because it was announced that my favorite musical group is coming to Mountain View on August 9th - RUSH!!! I saw them last in 2008 (2007 before that, same tour). I still love them, and I still listen to Snakes & Arrows like it was released yesterday. They're touring behind 1981's Moving Pictures (Tom Sawyer anyone?). I think that's the new trend, to play an album in its entirety. Moving Pictures only has 7 songs on it, so we're all wondering what other songs they'll play. This concert will also be poignant for me and Andrew, because when we met, our first conversation was about RUSH. We have RUSH tattoos - we're crazy about them. I can't wait!
