1, 2, 3 day Twist-out

To maintain a multi-day look with this twist-out I gathered my hair in a high loose pony (known has to pineapple your hair)and finger combed/fluffed the next day with a light oil.
Day 1

Day 2
Day 3

Each day the twist-out got bigger and I loved it more. Of course, after 3 days of this look the detangling session was very tedious. So to start the detangling process I applied conditioner to dry hair in a smoothing motion and then finger detangled (in the shower) under running water in four sessions. Once the major detangling was done I applied more conditioner and used my wide tooth shower to detangle further. The final step was to use my rubber paddle brush to thoroughly detangle all the sections. The total time spent detangling: 40 minutes.

After doing all that - I bunned. :)

Flexi Rod Twist-out

The other weekend I had my 10yr high school reunion and because of the dress I was wearing, I wanted Teyana Taylor big hair (even if it's not hers). So I figured that I would do a twist-out but set them on flexi rods to stretch them out for length and volume. Well, it did not turn out the way I planned...I'm human and here is my failed Teyana Taylor inspired hair.

I will keep attempting this until I get it.

Lunch with the Hubby

On Monday I had a mental health day from work (Yay for those) and took advantage of the opportunity to join the Hubby for lunch (and wear my hair out).

I achieved this twist-out by making a zig-zag part in the front and doing flat twists all around. I really liked this twist-out and will probably start doing them this way. It was less time consuming and fast drying. This is how the set looked:

Love in the beach air!

The title implies that I attended a wedding AND the humidity (75%) at the beach puffed up my flat twist out. I got tons on compliments and I was happy with the outcome. I love humidity!!!

(Note: This is the same twist out that I was not happy with on Friday morning. )

Congrats to the new couple, you guys looked great!

Failed Twist-out?

On Wednesday night I touched up my twists because the ones in the back were coming loose (I went ahead and re-twisted them all).

This morning I took my twists out and I was not too pleased:

I used my afro pick to lift the roots for more volume and separated some of the clumps. Maybe it will swell throughout the day.

Fortunately, I know what I did wrong. I re-twisted on dry hair and did not dampen my hair afterwards. Without extreme moisture my hair lacks definition.
